The problem seems to be fujitsi nobody understands what to change exactly in the code to make the driver work on a new kernel. Some smartlink chipsets don’t need slamr and can use ALSA instead. I don’t get any sounds from the modem, so guess it is not firing up.
Debian package doesn’t install, as it has some broken dependency – libasound2I Seems like some of the problems you’re having compiling the linmodems.
I recall seeing some post on a modem dialling problem on startup a smrtlink back, have a search in the forum maybe they have some answer.
Another internal Conexant modem up and running in Ubuntu!
Hi guys, I have a problem with my modem and I posted it in this thread as I have smarrtlink issues that are somehow related to my modem problem. It seems as if the changes you made work mostly, but the modem seems to be seized after a reboot and does not want to dial out, although dialling does take place dial tones. I can confirm that the method described in the original post worked flawlessly on a Dell Inspiron Kubunutu 64bit installed.
